The last time I blogged... was the first time I ever blogged. But I am now recommitting to keeping you "posted" on our life together. A year has already passed us by! It has been the best year of my life, spending it with my best friend and love of my life.
There is so much to catch up on, so I decided to take it month by month...starting in March 2011.
MARCH
I celebrated my 20th birthday and Ka'i made it memorable by making it last a full week long. He made sure I felt extra special each day and spoiled me as much as I let him.
Two days after my birthday on March 11th, 2011 our little nephew Nakoa was born here in Hawaii!!!
APRIL
Along with completing another semester at BYUH,
we also spent Easter with Ka'i's sister, Amy, and her family!
Here are Paka and Averie easter egg hunting:)
MAY
My little sister Abbey came out to visit me for a week!
We were looking forward to soaking in the beautiful island rays but instead we got this...
Rain...and LOTS of it.
We were scared the rain was going to flood our apartment,
it was up to our door step!
Yep it poured the whole time she was here
(Hawaii doesn't like her very much).
(Hawaii doesn't like her very much).
We still had a great time inside our small apartment. One night she made Cafe Chulo Burritos.
She actually brought a bag of sweet pork all the way from CDA! YUM!
We prayed really hard the last day she was here and were determined to find the sun.
We jumped in the car in the morning and drove around the island till we came to Ko'olina with beautiful weather...Abbey got the best Hawaiian burn I've seen yet.
Then we got Matsumotos Shaved Ice
Towards the end of May I decided to travel to Logan, UT
to help my sister Jessy drive up to CDA with her two girls
to visit my family and see Wicked!

My mom bought her girls tickets for Christmas
and I couldn't let it go to waste.
and I couldn't let it go to waste.
Ka'i had to stay in Hawaii for a few more weeks because he was still taking classes (this was our first time being apart since we were married--I never want to do that again!) It was still fun to spend time with my family.
Jessy's baby girl Paisley
We went bowling with Jacko before we took off to Idaho
Fun times in the car.
Finally made it home:) This was the first time Austin has ever been super excited to see me! He was talking to my mom the whole time about buying him a ticket to come back to Hawaii with me.
Mommy and I
We went to Olive Garden before we went into Spokane to see Wicked...
We are cracking up because we told my mom to take a picture of us and instead she pointed the camera at herself and said "smile"...we let her go ahead and take a pic of herself.
We couldn't control ourselves.
Love my sissys!
While I was there we had a garage sale to get ready for my parent's big move out of our house. It was weird being there knowing it was my last time staying in the home I grew up in :(
Speaking of saying good-bye to things...
While we were garage selling, a guy walks up and asks my dad how much for the suburban. We have had that car since Carson was born, we've taken it on road trips from CDA to Timbuktu! I forget how many miles were on the tank but it was somewhere in the outrageous zone. My dad jumped on the deal but said that he had to get it started first (it had been sitting in the corner of our front yard all winter long). Somehow he started it up...it was sad seeing it drive away...
I was able to get some hours at Chulo, workin with Abb.
Making chocolate balls with Brookie and Austin
JUNE
Jessy and I drove back to Logan and a few days later my father-in-law came to pick me up in Logan, and then we went to pick Ka'i up at the airport. FINALLY! I missed him so much.
We spent the remainder of the summer there. It has been a big year for the Kamoe family. Not only a new baby being born but also this summer we were able to attend Alexie's graduation and Amber's wedding to Yami! While we were there we were also able to go to Ka'i's best friend, Dustin's wedding where he was the best man.
Lexi's Graduation
Amber's Wedding
Dustin's Wedding
It was nice because even with all those exciting family events going on, we were still able to run kids soccer camps and train with Dad Kamoe!
Ka'i practicing being a daddy:)
JUNE
Ka'i and I packed up and said good-bye to the Utah family.
Then we rented a car and drove to Idaho.

I love road trips with my hubby.
We couldn't miss the last condos EVER for my family! I've been going every summer since I was born.
Here we are in beautiful Hope, ID.

We had the WHOLE family together (never happens) so we went out and took family pictures.
Our very own family!
JULY
Ka'i turned 24! To celebrate we went out to Wolf Lodge
and then came home and had plain chocolate cake (his favorite).
Happy Birthday to the love of my life. Thank you for all you do for me. You make me the happiest girl in the world and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. I love you Alaka'i.
Here are some picture I took while we were visiting...
We went for a walk at English Point |
Mom and Dad playing Dr. Mario (moms kicking his butt!) |
Austin decided to make himself some homemade roller skates.
He taped toy cars to the bottom of his feet!
We went into Hauser for a mini 3v3 tournament. Ka'i, Dad, anad Zack all played on a team. |
We were really excited to see Harry Potter 7!
AUGUST
By this time we made the long flight back to the island.
We subleased out our apartment so it was a long process of putting it back together when we got back.
I missed my friends over the summer so we got together to make cookies when we got back.
Soon we got really busy with school, work and soccer.
SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER
Soccer season is always a blurrrrrr.
I love it because the semester flies by really fast!
It was a tough transition this year moving from froward/wing to right defender to sweeper. We lost a lot of our defense from last season and then just a few games in our starting sweeper tore her ACL so I had to step up and direct the team from the back. It was a stressful season but I liked the challenge and I learned a lot.
Roadtrip to Cali--it was really fun being able to travel together and see Mom and Dad Kamoe in San Fran
Walking the Pier
I felt really bad for Ka'i because his parents drove all the way to watch him play and he only got in for half of one game because he got red carded! For his second time in a row. He has never received a red in his life so it was very unfortunate that he has 2 during his last season. He handled it well though and still lead his team
(he is the captain).
Senior Day for Alaka'i
We were both #10 this season
cute...I know :)
DECEMBER
We spent our first Christmas away from home this year,
but out first together all by ourselves.
There is nothing like Christmas in Hawaii.
Our amazing friends the Mierzejewskis
Christmas Party
Ka'i and his friends and the legendary Kahuku Grill
Our Christmas Pictures!
